​   The Shire Homestead is a small diverse family farm located in coastal Freeport, Maine. We are a non GMO, organic practice, permaculture focused and intensively grown working farm.   
​   Our chickens, turkeys and geese are pastured and free range.  We have a small herd of dairy goats, from which we get our milk, yogurt, and cheese. We have heritage pigs and rabbits.    Many of our vegetables, herbs and mushrooms are  wild harvested. We make tinctures, soaps, lotions, and teas from what we grow and gather.  Next year we will add a market garden!  
     On this website is our online "Store" which you can access by pointing and clicking on the tab above.  Once in, you can click onto the category of your choice where you will find our individual products and prices for sale. Our "Proteins" availability fluctuates, thus  check in with us before purchasing if interested.  We also have a newborn "Blog" tab where both Marcina and Chandler will post from time to time.  If you'd like notices or updates, have a question or comment, go into the "Contact" tab and leave us your preferred contact information.  If you are local, shipping fees are waived or refunded once delivery/pickup arrangements are made.  We are a very small business focused on serving our friends and neighbors.  If ever you are unsatisfied, let us know!  We are very interested in your satisfaction and will do whatever we can to meet and exceed your expectations!  
     
     As Christians, we believe we are to be good stewards to the land and animals in our care.  We believe God has given us creation as food, as medicine and to stand in awe and wonder at.  We are to care for and protect the earth and it's inhabitants.  It is our desire to honor God with our homestead and all that it produces.
