Echinacea Extract in Glycerin
Echinacea purpurea is used to treat colds, upper respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, and slow-healing wounds. The root of the Echinacea plant is also used for the treatment of flu-like infections. We have used Vegetable Glycerin to extract Echinacea's medicinal properties as it is not only safe and alcohol free, but adds a sweetness that "makes the medicine go down"! Extracts made with Glycerin have a much shorter shelf life (12 months) than alcohol extracts (years), so we sell it in .5 ounce bottles. We also put it in blue bottles to help differentiate it from our other extracts! Dosing: it is generally recommended that a drop per pound of Child's weight. For example, if your child is 30 pounds, the dose is 30 drops (1 ml.). You can mildly dilute with water or juice if desired (a teaspoon or about 5 ml.).
