Beards are back and bigger than ever! While overall easy to grow and care for, beards do need some upkeep. 1. Keep it clean. Wash it with soap or shampoo when you shower, but do keep it clean. 2. After growing out for a few months, you will want to shape it. Don't shape it too early! Wait until it is at least an inch and a half before shaping. 3. Once clean and shapely, you'll want to condition it. This is where our Beard Balm comes in. We used Rosemary and Calendula infused sunflower seed oil. Calendula keeps the scalp hydrated and keeps the skin beneath a beard moisturized also. Rosemary helps stimulate hair growth and reduces dandruff. Sunflower seed oil is also a moisturizer for hair! I contains a wide array of nutrients and antioxidants together with essential fatty acids make it extremely beneficial for your hair. We added Emu Oil because it is high in omega-3s and is noncomedogenic (it does not block pores so it does not promote acne). It also strengthen hair, remove frizz and promote shine. Lastly, we use Lanolin in our Beard Balm. Lanolin oil penetrate skin cells. It traps water in the skin cells preventing water loss. Another moisturizer within this Beard Balm to keep the skin beneath the beard as healthy as the beard itself! Beeswax helps to keep the hairs in place to promote a well kept beard. If you want a wild, frizzy, unruly beard do not use this balm. If you are fine with dry, itch skin beneath your beard, don't use this balm! It is scented Pine Cones and Honey to delight the sniffer of the beard wearer and anyone who gets in close to your now well kept and healthy beard!
